With the growing adoption of contextualized generative AI chatbots, there is an increasing demand for tailored solutions to enhance learners' educational experiences. This study aimed to develop a generative AI chatbot specifically designed to assist learners in addressing challenges associated with design thinking and to evaluate its effectiveness in fostering creative problem-solving skills. A functional chatbot, grounded in established design thinking frameworks and generative AI applications, was successfully developed. The process involved fine-tuning the GPT-4o model, building the chatbot in HTML, and applying diverse prompt engineering strategies to enable effective learner support. Integration of the chatbot into design thinking activities resulted in a statistically significant improvement in learners' creative problem-solving abilities. These findings highlight the potential of contextualized generative AI chatbots to enhance learning outcomes and lay a foundation for future applications across diverse educational contexts.
